Beautiful things.

2,000+ miles traveled. 253 pages read aloud. 5 girls. 4 pillows. 2 days in the big apple. 1 day in the hamptons. countless cups of coffee. joy. laughter. frustration. stress. tears. celebration. love.

this was my fall break.

i've been asked what the best part was. my response, all of our responses, is, "the women i was with." women who love each other unconditionally.

the book bittersweet made us think. the song beautiful things reminded us of our redemption. visiting redeemer presbyterian, worshiping together, listening to tim keller together, taking communion together, called us back to the cross. drinking too much coffee kept us going.

being with those women was a sweet, beautiful time. i treasured each moment of it. and love each of them more.

Overwhelmed.

I am overwhelmed.

Every time I get overwhelmed, I get over-dramatic. Clearly, things are never as bad as they are at that very moment of overwhelming-ness. Tonight is one of those times. I have an exam in the morning. I feel inadequate in every area of my life. I have knots in my back. I haven't had enough coffee. I have a paper due Friday. I leave for New York for fall break on Saturday.

But. I have friends who love me enough to send me sermons, call me out on being prideful, and encourage me when I need it. I am inadequate, and I'm only enough because grace makes me enough. I try to control things, and it never works. I should stop that.

So. In this moment of overwhelming-ness, I'm stopping to pray. Stopping to refocus, and remember why I'm taking classes like Living and Working in a Multicultural Context in the first place. I'm stopping with the over-dramatic stuff. I'll survive.

For real? Yep. For real.

Today: Long day.
Tomorrow: Long day. Plus interview number one.
Wednesday: Long day. Plus interview number two.

After that, hopefully there will be celebration.
For now, here's a face for you.

Sorry it's backwards. If you really can't read it, hold your computer up in a mirror.

Kilter.

I've never done Kilter before. Or any other big Covenant event, for that matter.

This being my last semester, and having Kaia and Rachael tell me I had no choice, I went to Kilter.

Josiah volunteered to be my date before school even started. I officially asked him with some Tim Tams and these home made brownies (sorry it's blurry):

Kilter is a costume dance. This year's theme was Karnival Kilter. We couldn't be anything typical. Obviously. So, as 21 year olds, we dressed up like angsty teenagers going on a date.

Thanks for being 14 again with me, Josiah.
